At Gladiolus English medium school, we believe that the art of acquiring knowledge is the only way to enter the sea of enlightenment. Our logo is the formation of the traditional values of Indian culture and the modern ideas. The lamp is associated to eternal passion to spread knowledge and wisdom. The beautiful flame signifies purity and energy.

The Flame, Book, Lamp and Pen

The formation of logo includes the lamp, the pen and the open book. It is in yellow, blue, brown and black colours symbolically. It also shares the management’s passion to facilitate and instill the four values like compassion, integrity, unity and strength among the students of GEMS. Colours in the Logo represent the colour of each of these character values.

One of the significant element of the logo is the union of values in education, the open book is a direct indication that education empowers and enlightens every student of ours with knowledge. Since the base of the lamp in the logo is manifested by the open book, deriving to the fact that values based on knowledge lead to the overall development of a human.

The image of the pen denotes the freedom of expression. The knowledge that the students inculcate will be expressed by means of pen. It will enlighten the lives of human beings by surpassing the darkness.

In essence the logo represents that any student or seeker who acquires knowledge will work in the world outside in organizing humanity. He/ she will try to protect and maintain the greater human values like compassion, equality, integrity and balance. Such a seeker empowered with these four character values will enlighten the world around by spreading the fragrance of supreme knowledge.

The Colours

Yellow is the colour of sunshine. It also represents the value of compassion. The sun is the eternal symbol of compassion to one and all beings, not only living beings on the earth but in the larger universe too. Without the sun and it’s energy sustenance of living form is impossible. The sun represents to expel darkness from the physical world by spreading light. Similarly the light also expels darkness of ignorance, superstition, poverty, unhealthiness, unhygienic from lives of the human beings. It brings the ray of hope by spreading knowledge, scientific temper, progressive reforms and eternal values.

The blue colour represents integrity which is one of the top most of all character values. A human being with high on integrity is complete in his character and divine in his attitude. The regal virtue is symbolized by blue sky. The blue sky is infinite and absolute, all-pervading and all- encompassing. It is complete by its wholeness and divine by its inclusiveness.

The blue colour also represents water which is life. Without water the life cycle of the ecosystem won’t exist. The water gives life to every living creative including the trees and plants. The shade of flame of the lamp is blue it means there will be the continuous eternal flow of knowledge and wisdom.

The brown colour is associated to the virtue of honesty. Honesty is the character virtue of strength. It is very significant to build a personality. It is also the colour of the Earth which is the symbol of comfort and nurturing. It is also the colour of soil, growth, fertility and associated to heconepts of all natural and organic elements. The colour brown affects the mind and body by crating feelings of wholesomeness, stability and peace. The brown provides the feelings of organization, history and connection. The colour brown is a stable and grounded colour that is believed to help you feel like you fit in and belong.

The colour gray is the symbol of balance. Although it is associated with meanings of dull, dirty and dingy, it also symbolises formal and sophisticated. The gray colour affects the mind and body by causing unsettling feelings. In the logo, the pages of the open book are in gray colour. The book represents the source of knowledge and wisdom. By acquiring which, we step to become more sophisticated, civilized and human. There is a sexual balance too; the light gray colour is feminine in nature while dark gray is masculine in nature.

The colour black is associated to power, strength and authority. It also represents death, evil, unknown and negativity. However, the life is full with all the virtues as well as vices. By drawing contrasts, we can select the better virtues of life. Authoritative and powerful black colour can evoke strong emotions which are important to dare to practice new innovative reforms. The colour black affects the mind and body by helping to create an inconspicuous feeling by boosting confidence in appearances and increasing the sence of potential. The image of pen is also in colour black in the logo. Symbolically, it means to express power and authority by exhibiting new ideas, concepts and thoughts.
