About us

GEMS Aims

Our school insists the following aims ...

Continuity

Continuity and progression are cornerstones of education, essential in understanding the construction of schooling in most countries. Progression describes pupils’ personal journeys through education and ways in which they acquire, hone, apply and develop their skills, knowledge and understanding in increasingly challenging situations

Balance

Every classroom is different, and teachers need to be in the driving seat when it comes to making a choice, implementation and ultimate success of the technology. Teachers should not fear that technology will take their place but that they can use it to supplement their weaknesses and elevate their talents.

Recognition

Recognition of individual differences is one of the hardest jobs that a teacher faces in the classroom. It requires a strong sense of instinct as well as the knowledge of characteristics of each of the specific differences. Without this, the teacher is unable to fulfill their job to the best of their ability.

Experiences

Provision of variety of experiences in order to develop skills and to inculcate knowledge. Experience and Education opens by saying that humans organize thoughts, and ideas as "either-ors" and argues that this is mirrored in educational philosophy, namely in what Dewey labels as traditional vs. progressive education.
